Back to School Blues

Parker starts pre-school tomorrow. It's going to be bitter sweet.

On one hand I think about what all I will be able to get done without him home all day but on the other the house will be so quite. I will actually get some quality alone time, but I will miss all of our special moments with just me and him. I will actually be able to go to the store without any meltdowns or begging for a new toy, but I will miss my shopping companion. I will be able to keep the house clean for more than 10 minutes at a time, but ... (ok, couldn't think of something to counter that one!)

I am excited for all the new things he will learn and the new friends he will make, but I'm secretly sad that he is growing up. I mean can't they just stay little forever! :)

I am blessed to have had the last couple of years as a stay at home mom, wouldn't trade it for all the money in the world!

  1. Hi,
Are you ready for the ride of your life? :) Little people (as I affectionately call them) are great and not until you are a mother do you really understand how something so "little and insignificant" can mean the world to the little guy/gal! Oh, the meltdowns and the repeating something 75 times are so different at each stage.

My son is 6 and will enter the 2nd grade in a few weeks! I can remember sitting in his kindergarten class at the beginning of the year crying at a teacher conference. Just overwhelmed at how I was going to survive my child and all these new people and experiences he was going to have! I am happy to say, so far so good! whew!!! Be a nosey mama and love even in the tough moments! Enjoy your little man cause he is going to be a big boy before you know it!

  2. Oh girl, you are so right! I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it all. I am so excited for him but I don't know if I'm really ready for him to not be my baby anymore!

    Thanks for stopping by!
